About the Role

The Personal Assistant provides dedicated administrative and operational support ensuring seamless management of the director’s schedule, communications, and engagements. This role demands exceptional organisational abilities, discretion, and a thorough understanding of political processes in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Management: Coordinate and maintain the calendar, including arranging meetings, appointments, and public appearances.
  • Communication Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between the office and constituents, media, and other stakeholders; manage correspondence and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Research and Briefing: Research policy issues, current events, and constituent concerns to prepare briefing materials and reports.
  • Event Coordination: Organise and oversee logistics for events, press conferences, and public forums, ensuring all details align with the politician’s objectives.
  • Administrative Support: Handle tasks such as drafting speeches, managing files, processing expenses, and maintaining records.
  • Travel Arrangements: Plan and coordinate travel itineraries, including transportation, accommodations, and accompanying the politician as needed.
  • Confidentiality Maintenance: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably within a political or governmental environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in office software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Discretion and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with political processes and current affairs.

Working Conditions:

The role may require extended working hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the politician’s schedule and urgent matters.
