“We initiated the Pacesetters Awards to recognize and appreciate key industry players, leading our economy via innovation, quality product and service provision, job creation and leadership. This is not about their balance sheet but due to their various contributions in the industry. This will be the next Oscar Awards for Africa. It is the first award and it has taken us 4 years to plan for it. Most of the awardees we have been studying them for the last 4 years. We will work with likeminded people to help the awardees grow,” said JSA Executive Director Jared Oundo.
Amish Gupta vice Chair of Kenya Association of Stock Brokers & Investments Banks (KASIB) was the Chief Guest. He is an expert in Investment banking and has done transactions of over Kes. 40 billion. “I submit that Ethics has played a critical role in becoming a pacesetter. Ethics is also called the moral philosophy, the discipline concerned with what is morally good and bad and morally right and wrong. Ethics is the process of questioning, discovering and defending values, principles and purpose. It’s about finding out who you are and staying true to that in the face of temptations, challenges and uncertainty. It is increasingly furious and shameful to read about poor ethics year after year, month after month. An entire new approach is required by many in positions of seniority to in searching for the vaccine for the new Ethics Aids Virus and achieve Ethics Transformation. It also permeated into our industry with both issuers of securities and listees notwithstanding the legal framework and visibility in place. This ceremony has validated my approach to the need for a Capital Markets Ethics Framework Improvement Initiative in order to deliver to investor expectations,” said FA Amish Gupta.

“Some of the world’s finest brains we are working with will take organization and individuals that were considered for the awards through training and mentorship programs. This will help them acquire more skills and grow progressively,” added Jared Oundo.
